U.S. authorities have accused Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani and managing director of Adani Green, Vneet S. Jaain, of being part of a scheme to pay bribes of $265 million to secure Indian solar power supply contracts, and misleading U.S. investors during fund raises there.

Bribery allegations against Adani Group founder Gautam Adani have highlighted the growing problem India's renewable energy developers face in finding buyers for the power they generate.

Gautam Adani was charged for allegedly conspiring to pay about $265 million in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain contracts and develop India’s largest solar power plant project on November 21.
